| The Usual Suspects Guild - W o W - Cenarius Alliance Guild |
We are The Usual Suspects and The Usual Alibi, Alliance Guild on Cenarius (US). Really, no joke, that's who we are! And this is our website. Want to know more? Read our Guild Charter!
Our Raid Times are Mondays thru Fridays 6-10pm Server Time 25 Mans & 10 Mans ^_^ |
|
On March 18th, the same week as our first SSC Kill (The Lurker Blows!), TUS downed Void Reaver!

In a single night we downed the first boss, Rage Winterchill! For those who are not familiar with Hyjal, the entire instance is structured much like Black Morass. Mobs stream in in waves on a set timer, and only by surviving 8 full waves of mobs can the raid encounter Winterchill. Every wave requires everyone to be on their toes the entire time, and it's an endurance/gauntlet run of sorts.

Servers are experiencing some pitfalls over the past couple of days. I am keeping a semi up to date backup of the database so if for some reason things get hairy we shouldn't lose too much if any posts. Just thought I'd let everyone know about it and hopefully things should be ironed out soon so we can go back to a stable environment.
Thanks,

VI. Guild Ranks
REGARDING ABSENCES: Our guild ranks are based largely upon raid attendance and performance. As has always been the case with TUS, we understand that real life happens and interferes with the time members have to devote to raids. Thus, if real life requires that you take a partial or complete hiatus from our raid schedule for more than 7 days, we ask that you contact an officer to let us know about how long you will be away. The rank you have earned will remain, and we will look forward to your return.
DEMOTIONS: Unexplained absences WILL RESULT in demotion. An unexplained absence of more than 14 days will result, at the option of the officers, in demotion to one rank below your current rank. Every 14 days thereafter, you will lose an additional rank. A member who is demoted to the rank of Non-Raider for an extended period of time due to unexplained absence will be removed from the guild. Furthermore, repeated late- or no-shows to raids or other chronic issues such as inexcusably poor raid performance or failing to come prepared (PVP flags, consumables, etc.) may also result in a demotion.
REGARDING LOOT: Remember that the Loot Committee considers MANY factors in choosing the recipients of raid drops, especially progression drops (i.e. bosses that are not on "Farm" status). Your rank is an important part of the loot decision, but NOT the only one. See the "Loot" and "Loot Committee" sections of the TUS Guild Charter for more information.
Noob: A non-officer alt or low level member of the TUS family.
- Lower than level 70
- If level 70, undergeared for raiding
- Does not have guild bank withdrawal privileges
- Not considered eligible for raid invites
- In some cases, a ranked guild member who repeatedly demonstrates unacceptable raid performance (including a history of no-shows) may be demoted to the Noob rank. If this is the case, expulsion from the guild is imminent unless the member shows immediate improvement
Non-Raider: Established member of TUS who rarely if ever attends our raids, whether because of real life scheduling conflicts, a hiatus from the game, or other reasons.
- Rarely raids with TUS
- Does not have guild bank withdrawal privileges
- Lowest priority for raid invites, unless group composition demands otherwise
- Extended, unexplained inactivity will result in demotion to the Non-Raider rank
- Long periods of unexplained inactivity may result in a Non-Raider being asked to leave the guild
Associate: A recent recruit to TUS.
- Available, signed up, and online for 1-2 25-mans per week and 1 10-man per week. If undergeared for 25-mans (that is, in possession of less than 12 main-spec epic items), should be available and online for a full Karazhan run each week
- Does not have guild bank withdrawal privileges
- Lower priority for raid invites than Soldier, Sergeant, and Lieutenant, unless group composition demands otherwise
- Lowest priority for progression loot
- Main character's primary gear set is nearly full epic and has the best possible gems and enchantments for all armor/weapons (i.e. at least blue gems, no low-level enchantments).
- Shows a dedication to attaining at least the Soldier rank as soon as possible by fulfilling that rank's requirements for at least 2 consecutive weeks
- Demonstrates effort to improve his/her main character's gear and performance outside of raiding (Heroic drops, high-level tradeskills, Badge gear, Arena/PVP gear)
- If an Associate does not or cannot qualify for the Soldier rank within 4 weeks of joining TUS, he/she may be asked to leave the guild
Soldier: An established, reliable raid member.
- Available, signed up, and online for 1-2 25-mans per week and 1 10-man per week.
- Always comes to raids on time (30 minutes BEFORE raid start time), repaired, unflagged, and fully prepared with required addons, appropriate consumables and reagents.
- Moderate priority for progression loot
- Enjoys withdrawal privileges from the guild bank except for the consumables tab, and both contributes to and withdraws from the guild bank
- Main character's primary gear set is nearly full epic and has the best possible gems and enchantments for all armor/weapons (i.e. at least blue gems, no low-level enchantments).
- Demonstrates effort to improve his/her main character's gear and performance outside of raiding (High-level tradeskills, Badge gear, Arena/PVP gear). This includes having high quality gems and enchantments for all armor/weapons (i.e. no green gems or low-level enchantments).
- Consistently demonstrates average or better raid performance (good damage/healing output, high level of skill in use of spells and abilities, etc.), as well as the drive to constantly improve
- Logs onto the guild website at least twice per week to stay up to date with guild concerns
- Is familiar with most or all raid encounters TUS is currently actively engaging
Sergeant: A committed, high performing raid member.
- Available, signed up, and online for 2-3 25-mans per week and 1-2 10-mans per week.
- Never no-shows for events he/she has signed up for
- Always comes to raids on time (30 minutes BEFORE raid start time), repaired, unflagged, and fully prepared with required addons, appropriate consumables and reagents.
- Enjoys withdrawal privileges from the guild bank including the consumables tab, and both contributes to and withdraws from the guild bank
- High priority for raid invites, unless group composition demands otherwise
- High priority for progression loot
- Main character's primary gear set is fully epic, on par with the content our current progression allows, and has the best possible gems and enchantments for all armor/weapons (i.e. at least blue gems, no low-level enchantments).
- Main character's secondary- or off-spec gear set includes 11+ epics (where appropriate)
- May or may not have an alternate character capable of filling other roles in TUS raids
- Consistently demonstrates high raid performance (very high damage/healing output, excellent level of skill in use of spells and abilities, etc.)
- Logs onto the guild website a few times per week to stay up to date with guild concerns, and is active in providing useful feedback, insights, etc.

Lieutenant: A well respected, highly committed, top performing raid member entrusted with leadership responsibilities.

- Demonstrates strong leadership amongst players with similar classes and roles, including active recruiting, tracking the progress of new recruits, and coordinating various raid responsibilities (healing/buffing assignments, etc.)
Capo: Quite simply, this rank denotes the alternate character(s) of a Captain.
Captain: An officer in TUS. Fulfills all requirements expected of Lieutenants plus:
- Is unanimously agreed upon by current officers to attain the rank of Captain
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities by leading raids and other efforts
- Mediates and resolves interpersonal conflicts within the guild
- Participates in the loot committee, where appropriate
